There are two common methods for correct installation of cylindrical roller bearings: one is cold installation, the other is hot installation.

Cold installation: when installing small bearings with not too tight fit, you can use a sleeve and hammer to gently tap the sleeve to install the bearing to a proper position. When striking, it shall be evenly applied to the cylindrical roller bearing ring as far as possible to prevent the bearing from tilting or skewing. Most cylindrical roller bearings are installed by pressing in. If the inner and outer rings of the cylindrical roller bearing are to be installed on the shaft and the bearing seat at the same time, it must be ensured that they act on the inner and outer rings at the same time with the same pressure and must be on the same plane with the contact surface of the installation tool.

Hot installation: In general, it is impossible to install larger bearings without heating the bearings or bearing pedestals, because the larger the size, the greater the force required for installation. The temperature difference between the cylindrical roller bearing ring and the shaft or bearing seat required for hot installation mainly depends on the interference amount and the diameter of the bearing fitting place. The heating temperature of open bearing shall not exceed 120 ℃. It is not recommended to heat cylindrical roller bearings with seals and dust covers to more than 80 ℃ (ensure that the temperature does not exceed the allowable temperature of seals and grease). When heating cylindrical roller bearings, they should be heated evenly, and local overheating is not allowed.
