Functions of transmission planetary gears:
1. According to the needs of road conditions and driving conditions, change the driving speed of the vehicle to provide appropriate driving force;
2. Cut off or transfer engine power as required to enable the engine to effectively output power or idle;
3. By shifting gears, the direction of vehicle power output can be changed to achieve forward and reverse driving.
The sun gear is located in the center of the whole mechanism just like the sun, and the planetary gear is engaged with the sun gear. The internal
tooth design of the gear ring makes the gear ring mesh with the planetary gear on the planet carrier. Generally, 3-6 planetary gears (four planetary gears in the figure above) are symmetrically and evenly installed on the needle bearing of the planet carrier through the needle bearing. When the planetary gear mechanism works, the planetary gear can not only rotate around its own axis, but also revolve around the sun gear. The planet carrier also rotates around the sun gear. Since the sun gear and the planetary gear are externally engaged, the rotation direction of the two is opposite. The planetary gear and the ring gear are internally engaged. The rotation direction of the two is the same. Generally, the sun gear, ring gear, planet carrier and planet gear are called four basic elements.
